At some point in our lives, we have to learn a very painful lesson: that not everyone wants us. I have learned this the hard way, more than once.

The most recent time should stick. It was with my ex husband. Years went by where he just wanted to be at work. He did not want to be around me at all. I ask him multiple times, if he was ready to go. He lied and said no. Had he said yes, I would have been hurt, but would have liked the opportunity to not invest 10 years into something that was not going to last.

I have learned that you can not make people love you. They either do or they don't. If the person closest to you starts pulling away and isn't willing to discuss it, it may be time to go.
